Goodbye 2007, Hello 2008!

Well 2007 is just days away from wrapping up. I have to say that it’s been a great year full of lots of change and growth, personally and professionally. My business got off the ground and I have been having so much fun with it! I have learned so much about being a business owner and all the things that go with it. Scott was and has been a tremendous inspiration, he is very business and entrepreneurial minded. I credit him for making MacFarland Photography what it is. The whole experience of starting a business has built lasting memories for me for years to come. We spent countless hours working together, me designing and him coding and building my website. We had late night pow-wow sessions talking about goals and dreams and the future. I loved every minute of it and can’t believe I am so blessed to have someone who is just as passionate about my dreams as I am.

Scott also has had a wonderful year professionally. Watching the growth and change that has gone on in the last year is awe-inspiring. I couldn’t be more proud of him and how he works so hard to provide for our family. He balances his hectic job with the family so well. He has taught me so much about the power of planning and organization…2 things I need to work on in ’08!

The kids had a pretty good year too. Brady turned 6 in March and also had his tonsils out the same month. We struggled for years with his sleep apnea and growth problems, having that surgery changed his life. It’s amazing how he changed, he put on 8 pounds, is eating like you would not believe, and doing so well in school. He continues to do awesome in school, especially in math and reading and that makes me so proud!!! Little Miss Kacey continues to grow like a weed and change by leaps and bounds. Her personality is changing, she’s not as shy as she used to be. She’s only 3 and has the vocabulary of an adult, she loves Disney Princesses, music and dancing. We have enjoyed watching her mature from the 2 year old toddler into the outgoing 3 year old. Her biggest accomplishment was getting potty trained right before she turned 3 in August, it was quick and easy and its true that girls train quicker than boys.

Scott and Italked a few nights ago about our resolutions for 2008. We share the same ones mostly. We are going to continue down the path of postive growth. Organization and time management is going to be the biggest one to work on, and my least favorite probably. We also have made a promise to one another to get back into the gym and stay there, get fit, eat healthier and lose weight. It’s so easy to get in a comfort zone. I love to cook, there’s no getting around that. I just need to work on preparing healthier meals, something I was doing during the spring and summer but somehow got off on the wrong track.

So, with 4 more days to go, I look back and am thankful for an amazing year and sincerely look forward to the new year ahead!
